Can you guess what I caught on camera in todays #MondayMotivation?

This brief video not only shows some beautiful British Wildlife but also reminds us of the necessity of a thorough Environmental Risk Assessment and the importance of the phrase, “Return often to retrieve rodent carcasses”.

This is a phrase we encounter frequently, from the label of rodenticides, from the CRRU codes of best practise and indeed most good practise guides through the industry.

But we can see here WHY that this phrase is just so important.

This rodent carcass (caught on a trap) was placed on the perimeter of the IPM Farm. It took less than two days (18hours) to be located by a scavenging mammal.

During times where there is an unavoidable need to resort to chemical intervention to protect stored food destined for human consumption, this 18 hour window is paramount.

If you cannot return regularly to sweep the area for rodents, ensure that you have left adequate provisions with the site teams to allow them to remove carcasses swiftly and safely and dispose of them in an appropriate way.
